In its 4pm bulletin, Météo-France issued an orange vigilance alert for three départements due to imminent heavy rainfall

This Wednesday 25 September, Météo-France issued an orange alert for Jura, Ain and Haute-Savoie, due to an episode of intense rainfall with the risk of flooding. These three départements are the first to be affected by a particularly active autumn low-pressure system, which could bring up to 100 mm of rainfall in 24 hours.

In addition, from Thursday, the entire eastern seaboard will also be placed under yellow alert for the risk of rain and flooding, with heavy rain expected along the axis from Gironde to Switzerland, according to forecasts by Météo-France.

The weather agency warns that this orange vigilance could be extended to other départements depending on how the situation develops.
