The custody of the suspect, a 19-year-old man, was lifted on Saturday and he was placed under judicial supervision. However, the public prosecutor has announced his intention to appeal against this decision

On 1 September, the lawyer for the family of the 7-year-old girl who tragically lost her life after being hit by a motorcyclist in Vallauris confirmed the death. At a spontaneous rally in Vallauris, the father broke the news, as reported by Nabil Boudi. The investigation is expected to be reclassified as ‘manslaughter’ on Monday.

The young man has been charged with ‘unintentional injury resulting in total incapacity for work of more than three months’ due to a breach of road safety regulations. Although he had been placed under judicial supervision, the public prosecutor had requested that he be remanded in custody, a request that was not followed.

The girl’s family expressed their dismay at this decision and are calling for the suspect to be remanded in custody. The appeal will be examined within 10 to 15 days by the Aix-en-Provence Court of Appeal, which has promised to deal with the case as soon as possible.

The girl’s father expressed his despair on social networks, denouncing the lack of respect for his daughter and her family.
