Armed Man Neutralized by Secret Service Near the White House

On the night of Saturday, March 8, to Sunday, March 9, 2025, Secret Service agents shot an armed man near the White House. The individual, previously reported as “suicidal” by local police, was traveling to Washington from Indiana. Authorities had been alerted to his concerning behavior, and agents quickly set up a security perimeter around the presidential residence.

Around midnight, agents located the suspect’s vehicle parked near the White House and identified a man on foot matching the provided description.
