Une fin d’année mitigée

With the end of the year fast approaching, preparations for the festive season are at the heart of many a family. But when exactly, and how do you prepare for this moment that celebrates the family, an event that is meant to be magical and a reality that catches up with us on a daily basis, inflation?

First, let’s talk about the preparations, which are first and foremost gastronomic. From stuffed turkey to foie gras (hot or cold) and the no less famous log, as well as products that are becoming scarce on the shelves, we’re seeing very significant price rises. For example, in addition to the fact that production has been cut by a third, mainly due to the epizootic that has affected the whole of Europe, not just France, prices have risen by around 25%. Suffice it to say that this will have the effect of dampening spirits.

Towards a tighter budget

But Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without the ever-present gifts that delight the little ones, but which the grown-ups can’t resist. And here again, it’s up to each of us to find the right budget for the lists our children have thought of time and time again. Fortunately, inflation is not yet part of their language. We’re all about instant pleasure, the magic of wrapping and ribbons that sparkle at the foot of the tree.

So to ensure that the festive season remains a time of pure pleasure, you need to find the right balance, no doubt be inventive to meet everyone’s expectations and, above all, remember that Christmas is a magical time and that, as far as possible, nothing should spoil these magic moments.
