Emmanuel Macron criticises the programmes of the extremes in the early legislative elections

In a podcast broadcast on Monday 24 June, Emmanuel Macron sharply criticised the programmes of the “extremes”, specifically targeting the Rassemblement national and La France insoumise, claiming that they are leading “to civil war”.

As he has done since the start of the early legislative campaign, the President of the Republic denounced the “extremes”, accusing their programmes of dividing society. In his view, the responses proposed by the far right “refer people to their religion or their origin”, which, according to Macron, “divides and leads to civil war”.

He also criticised La France insoumise for promoting “a form of communitarianism… a bit electoral”, adding that it also leads to civil war by reducing individuals to their religious or community affiliation.

A republican alternative

Emmanuel Macron stressed that the extremes are responding to “real problems”, such as security concerns and the recognition of minorities, but he believes they are doing so in the wrong way, increasing conflict. He insisted on the need for a response “that is more effective but within the Republic”.

The Head of State stressed that the solution never lies in rejecting others. He called for greater firmness in guaranteeing security and equal opportunities, asserting that the Republic must be more present and effective in these areas to prevent people from being tempted by extremes.

Allons enfants de la patrie

Emmanuel Macron reiterated his call for a republican and effective approach to the current challenges, while firmly rejecting the solutions proposed by the “extremes”, which he considers dangerous for social cohesion.
