Météo-France is predicting a mainly sunny start to the week for most of the country, despite forecasts of rain and thunderstorms towards the end of the month

The weather in France will alternate between sunshine and rain. At the start of the week, temperatures are expected to reach almost 30°C in several cities from Wednesday 26 June, according to the Météo France forecast. However, showers and thunderstorms are also expected over the next few days.

On Monday 24 June, clear or slightly cloudy skies will cover most regions, with temperatures ranging from 22°C in Brittany to 29°C in Perpignan. In Paris, Strasbourg and Lyon, temperatures of 27°C are expected. By contrast, thundery showers are expected in the south-east in the afternoon.

Tuesday 25 June promises to be even hotter, with temperatures on the rise: 25°C in Brest, 28°C in Nantes, 27°C in Limoges, Toulouse and Lille, and 29°C in Paris. Only the south-east will continue to experience thunderstorms.

Wednesday 26 June will be the hottest day of the week, with temperatures reaching 30°C in several cities, and even 31°C in Rouen. The sky will alternate between sun and cloud across France. The thunderstorms which have been affecting the south-east could move northwards, affecting the Strasbourg region and the Territoire de Belfort, as well as the north of the Rhône and parts of the Alps.

Thursday 27 June will be similar, with less precipitation. Temperatures of 30°C are forecast in Bordeaux, Metz and Montélimar, and 29°C in Chaumont, Paris and Rouen. The south-east will remain sunny, with 28°C in Gap and 27°C in Marseille.

On Friday 28 June, temperatures will fall in some regions, particularly in the northern half of the country: Rouen will drop from 29°C on Thursday to 22°C on Friday, as a result of a deterioration coming from the west, according to La Chaîne Météo.

For the weekend of 29 and 30 June, the forecasts remain uncertain. However, Météo-France is forecasting showers over most of the country and a gradual drop in temperatures.

The following week, after the first round of legislative elections, should be slightly cooler for the season, according to Météo-France. The agency points out that there is no clear trend in terms of rainfall.
