Major disruptions on the SNCF network this Thursday, December 26
The TGV and TER traffic is heavily disrupted this morning in eastern and northern France. These difficulties, reported by the SNCF, result from two separate incidents: a personal accident in Pantin and technical issues in the north.
Significant delays in the east
Trains heading to and from Gare de l’Est in Paris, particularly TGV INOUI between Paris and Mulhouse, are experiencing significant delays. According to the SNCF, a personal accident in Pantin, located in the Paris suburbs, is the cause of the disruptions.
“Count on a 2-hour delay for your TGV INOUI running between Paris-Est and Mulhouse,” states the SNCF on its official website.
Since 7:15 a.m., delays have also affected TGVs connecting Paris to Strasbourg, Sedan, Frankfurt, and Remiremont, with setbacks ranging from 1 to nearly 2 hours. Conversely, trains departing from the east towards Paris, notably from Reims, Colmar, Luxembourg, and Freiburg, face similar slowdowns. For instance, the Nancy-Paris TGV scheduled for 11:48 a.m. is expected to arrive 50 minutes late.
TER trains are also impacted: delays affect lines towards Saint-Dizier and Belfort, and the connection to Troyes has been canceled.
Incidents in the north
In northern France, a technical issue in Noyon has delayed TER traffic between Paris and Saint-Quentin. Since 6:16 a.m., delays of 90 to 120 minutes have been reported.
Widespread consequences
The personal accident in Pantin has also disrupted the RER E and line P from early this morning, causing cascading effects on the entire regional rail network.
Recommendations for travelers
The SNCF advises passengers to regularly check the SNCF Connect app for up-to-date information on their trains.
These incidents, during the Christmas holiday period, complicate travel for many passengers. SNCF teams are working to restore normal circulation as quickly as possible.
