Seine-Saint-Denis: A knife-wielding man killed by police in Dugny after attacking the forces of law and order

The police intervened after he lunged at them without warning

On Wednesday, February 26, a man carrying a knife in each hand was shot dead by the police in Dugny, Seine-Saint-Denis. According to the Paris police prefecture, officers were called to the scene around 7 a.m., where they found the man sitting at a bus stop. Upon their arrival, the man lunged at the officers without saying a word, prompting the intervention of the police.

Initially, one officer attempted to use a taser, but it had no effect. Another officer then used his service weapon, injuring the man in the chest. Despite efforts to revive him on-site and the swift arrival of emergency services, the man died from his injuries. The Territorial Police of Seine-Saint-Denis and the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) have been tasked with investigating the incident.
