“This discussion time will be based on current resources on the fight against all forms of discrimination,” explained the Education Minister’s office
At the Council of Ministers meeting on Wednesday 19 June, Emmanuel Macron called for “discussion sessions” on racism and anti-Semitism to be organised in schools in the coming days. This decision follows the indictment on Tuesday of two 13-year-olds for gang rape, death threats, anti-Semitic insults and violence against a 12-year-old girl in Courbevoie (Hauts-de-Seine).
“The President reiterated his commitment to the fight against anti-Semitism after referring to the tragedy in Courbevoie,” the Education Minister’s office told H24 NEWS.
“After a solemn and serious speech, he asked Nicole Belloubet to organise discussion times in all schools to combat anti-Semitism and racism, in order to prevent hate speech with serious consequences from infiltrating them,” added the same source. “These discussions will be based on existing content relating to the fight against all forms of discrimination.
