This Thursday 12 December, Emmanuel Macron is in Warsaw, Poland, to discuss strengthening support for Ukraine. On his return to France, scheduled for ‘early evening’, he could announce the appointment of a new Prime Minister. Among the names mooted to succeed Michel Barnier are Sébastien Lecornu, Jean-Yves Le Drian, Catherine Vautrin, François Bayrou and Bernard Cazeneuve.
Emmanuel Macron cuts short his visit to Poland and returns to Paris in the early evening

Emmanuel Macron has decided to cut short his visit to Poland, according to information obtained by H24 MEDIA from his entourage. Initially scheduled for 4 p.m., the visit to the Warsaw Uprising Museum has been cancelled. The President will therefore be back in Paris in the early evening.

The French weary of waiting for a new Prime Minister

With Emmanuel Macron due to announce the appointment of a new Prime Minister shortly, the patience of the French seems to be wearing thin. Interviewed by our BFMTV colleagues, some are expressing their annoyance at this situation, which has dragged on for over a week.

‘It’s very stressful, I feel completely overwhelmed,’ said one citizen. Others confessed that they did not know all the names put forward for the post, reflecting a certain disconnection from the process.

One young woman lamented:

‘The problem is that the President is not appointing someone from the majority group elected at the legislative elections.’

For others, the choice is irrelevant:

‘Whether it’s a minister from the left or the right, it won’t change a thing. The laws will be passed using the 49.3 and the workers will continue to be the butt of the joke. Our votes are not taken into account, it’s pointless.

The imminent appointment of a Prime Minister should hopefully ease this growing tension.
