Paul Lederman, the impresario of major stars such as Claude François, Coluche and Les Inconnus, died at the age of 84 on Sunday July 21 at the American Hospital in Neuilly, his children told AFP. “Our father, an emblematic figure in the world of entertainment and production, has left us surrounded by those who were dearest to him. True to the way he lived all his life, he passed away after fighting with strength and dignity the after-effects of a long illness,” they wrote in a statement.

Paul Lederman, known for his flair and exceptional commercial sense, was for decades a kingmaker in the entertainment industry, although some of his adventures ended up in court. Among the artists he has accompanied are Hervé Vilard, Mike Brant, Michel Polnareff, Christophe, Michèle Torr, Thierry Le Luron and Renaud.
