An abandoned suitcase containing category D weapons was discovered at Saint-Lazare station in Paris on 20 March, triggering an investigation by the Paris public prosecutor’s office, according to sources confirmed by Le Parisien
Following the discovery, an individual was arrested and placed in police custody. On 12 April, he was charged by the examining magistrate and remanded in custody.
Following interrogation of the individual, a judicial investigation was opened for ‘threatening to commit a crime’, ‘transporting a category D weapon’ and ‘criminal association with a view to committing a crime’. This case is now in the hands of the anti-terrorist section (SAT) of the criminal brigade of the Paris judicial police.
