The Mayor of the 13th Arrondissement, Jérôme Coumet, expressed his shock and called the situation tragic and unexpected. He announced the establishment of a psychological support service for the students of the high school.
Voices raised against violence near schools
Political leaders and officials strongly condemned the tragedy. Deputy Rodrigo Arenas expressed his sorrow and solidarity with the victim’s family, while Emmanuel Grégoire, a former first deputy mayor of Paris and current MP, condemned the rise in violence around schools and stated that such situations were “unacceptable.”
This tragic incident raises important questions about security in schools and the measures needed to address the increasing violence among young people.
