Mohamed Amra will be extradited to France in the coming hours

Mohamed Amra, a major drug trafficker, will be transferred to French authorities in the coming hours on Tuesday, February 25. He was captured in Bucharest, Romania, on Saturday, February 22

The Paris public prosecutor expressed confidence in the swift process of his extradition to France.

The Minister of Justice, Gérald Darmanin, has ordered that Mohamed Amra be placed in solitary confinement in a high-security prison, according to sources close to his office.

Amra, 30 years old, was one of the most wanted criminals after escaping on May 14, 2024, during his transfer at the Incarville toll in Eure. This escape tragically led to the deaths of two prison officers, causing widespread shock in the country. The drug trafficker was located and arrested after 284 days on the run, thanks to the intervention of Romanian law enforcement, with support from a search operation coordinated by France.
