Tipped to perform at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, celebrated Quebec singer Céline Dion landed in the capital on Tuesday, July 23, three days ahead of the event

According to RTL, information confirmed by H24 NEWS, 56-year-old Céline Dion arrived in Paris aboard a Bombardier BD-700 chartered by VistaJet. The flight left her home town of Las Vegas at 4:32pm on Monday July 22. She is currently staying at the Royal Monceau, located in the 8th arrondissement, and is due to try on at Dior in preparation for the opening ceremony, according to sources close to her entourage.

Rumors of Céline Dion’s participation in the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics have been circulating for months, without official confirmation. She could perform Édith Piaf’s “L’Hymne à l’amour”. The artists’ performances are scheduled to be recorded to avoid any technical problems.

Questioned by Télématin, Sports Minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra left Céline Dion’s participation a mystery, declaring: “I won’t say yes or no,” with a smile on her face. Céline Dion has not been on stage since March 8, 2020 in Newark, U.S.A., suffering from Stiff Person Syndrome, a neurological disease affecting her voice.
