Three individuals arrested in Haute-Garonne for planned violent action
On Tuesday October 8, three individuals of Afghan origin were arrested as part of an investigation by the French National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (Pnat). According to a source close to the case, confirmed by H24 NEWS and AFP, the arrests took place in the early hours of the morning, at around 6 a.m., in the communes of Toulouse and Fronton, in the Haute-Garonne region.
The operation was carried out jointly by agents from the French General Directorate for Internal Security (DGSI) and Raid forces, who were mobilized for this large-scale operation. The arrests follow the opening of a specific investigation by the Pnat, following the receipt of information suggesting a serious threat.
Intelligence thwarted plans for violent action
The three men, suspected of planning violent action on French soil, were placed under surveillance after intelligence services received indications of their intentions. The authorities, redoubling their vigilance in the face of the risk of radicalization and violence, acted swiftly to prevent any further acts.
The precise nature of the project has not yet been revealed, but initial information suggests that it was a potentially dangerous operation, requiring immediate intervention. The investigation is continuing in order to determine the extent of the preparations and assess the seriousness of the threat.
