Women have made accusations of touching Gérard Depardieu during the filming of two movies: ‘The Magician and the Siamese Twins’ and ‘The Green Shutters’
According to a police source, Gérard Depardieu has been taken into police custody for questioning in connection with allegations of sexual assault, confirming a report by BFMTV on Monday 29 April. The actor arrived at around 8 a.m. for questioning at the premises of the Third District of the Paris Judicial Police, in connection with two cases of sexual assault. Women are accusing him of touching them on two shoots: ‘The Magician and the Siamese’ in 2014 and ‘The Green Shutters’ in 2021.
In the case of ‘Le Magicien et les Siamois’, a female assistant on the set accused the actor of having ‘his hands all over [her] body’ during filming in Doué-en-Anjou (Maine-et-Loire).
In the ‘Green Shutters’ affair, a 53-year-old decorator has also accused the actor. According to her, Gérard Depardieu made a number of inappropriate comments during the film’s shooting, ‘grabbed her brutally’, ‘kneaded her waist, her stomach, right up to her breasts’, before being interrupted by his bodyguards.
Gérard Depardieu, 75, was indicted in December 2020 for rape and sexual assault following a complaint from actress Charlotte Arnould. The latter reported two rapes that occurred at the end of August 2018 at the actor’s Paris home. The complaint by actress Hélène Darras, who accused him of sexually assaulting her during a film shoot in 2007, was dismissed at the end of December due to the statute of limitations. In December 2023, the Spanish journalist and writer Ruth Baza also lodged a complaint in Spain against the actor for rape, relating to events in Paris in 1995.
