Imminent Extradition of Félix Bingui, Leader of the “Yoda” Clan, to France, according to a report in Le Parisien, confirmed by H24 MEDIA
Félix Bingui, nicknamed “The Cat,” is a notorious Marseille-based drug trafficker. At 33, he is the alleged leader of the “Yoda” clan, a powerful drug trafficking network operating primarily out of the La Paternelle housing estate in Marseille. After several months on the run, he was arrested in March 2024 in Casablanca, Morocco, following an international arrest warrant issued by French authorities. Bingui faces multiple serious charges, including organized drug importation and distribution, as well as violence linked to deadly gang-related conflicts.
A Deadly Gang War and an Extradition Hailed as a Victory
Bingui’s arrest follows a bloody gang war between his clan and another criminal network, the “DZ Mafia,” which ravaged Marseille in 2023. Nearly 70% of the 49 drug-related homicides in the city that year were reportedly linked to this conflict, which also claimed the life of Bingui’s brother-in-law, killed in Spain under similar circumstances.
Currently awaiting extradition to France, Félix Bingui is expected to face trial soon. Gérald Darmanin, France’s Minister of Justice, hailed the extradition as a significant victory in the fight against drug-related crime, expressing gratitude to Moroccan authorities for their cooperation. This extradition will enable French law enforcement to bring to justice a man considered one of Marseille’s most prolific drug traffickers.
