As results come in state by state, Donald Trump is widening his lead over Kamala Harris. Counting continues in several crucial states. The Republican candidate has already won crucial states such as Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina, and is now just five electoral votes short of victory

Donald Trump declares victory in the popular vote and claims a historic triumph

During his speech in Florida, Donald Trump claimed to have won the popular vote in the presidential elections. He also detailed the states in which he won the majority, including several strategic states, and claimed a total of “315 electoral votes”, well over the 270 needed to reach the presidency.

“An unprecedented political victory”, according to Trump, who promises to heal the country

The outgoing president acknowledged the support of his supporters, warmly thanking them for their presence and commitment. He also expressed his vision for the future: “We’re going to reach new heights, make our nation great again, heal it and solve all its problems,” he declared.

Calling his victory “a political victory never before seen in our country”, Donald Trump insisted that his movement represented “the greatest political movement in the history of the United States”.

Emmanuel Macron congratulates Donald Trump and says he is “ready to work with him”

In a message published on X, Emmanuel Macron offered his congratulations to Donald Trump on his proclaimed victory in the US presidential election. The French president expressed his willingness to continue collaborating with the Republican, as has been the case over the past four years: “Ready to work together, with your convictions and mine, in respect and ambition, for more peace and prosperity,” he declared.

Macron also announced that he had exchanged views with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz following the announcement of Trump’s victory, stressing the importance of maintaining bilateral and European relations despite the absence of official communication.

For her part, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, expressed her “warm” congratulations to Donald Trump via X, joining international reactions following the announcement of his victory.
