Dominique Pelicot to be questioned on Thursday about two cold cases in which he is under investigation

Dominique Pelicot Interrogated on Two Unsolved Cases

Sentenced to twenty years in prison for the aggravated rapes of his ex-wife, Dominique Pelicot is set to be extracted from his cell this Thursday, January 30, to be questioned by the “cold cases” division of the Nanterre Judicial Court.

At 72 years old, Pelicot, already convicted in the Mazan rape case, is under investigation for two long-unsolved cases: an attempted rape in 1999 and a murder in 1991.

Two Unsolved Cases Under Investigation

The interrogation, led by Judge Nathalie Turquey, will focus on the attempted rape of Marion (a pseudonym), an 18-year-old real estate agent attacked in Seine-et-Marne in 1999, as well as the murder of Sophie Narme, a 23-year-old real estate agent found dead in Paris in 1991.

Pelicot’s DNA, collected during the Mazan rape case, was matched with DNA evidence from the 1999 attempted rape scene. Regarding Sophie Narme’s murder, investigators identified striking similarities to his known methods.

Retracted Confessions and a Silent Defense

Initially, Dominique Pelicot admitted to the 1999 assault before retracting his confession and denying any involvement. As for the 1991 murder, he has consistently denied responsibility.
