Good News: Morgane, 13, Found Alive in Côtes-d’Armor
Morgane found in Coutances: an ongoing investigation
Morgane has been located in Coutances, in the Manche department, according to judicial authorities. The teenager was found in a youth workers’ residence in the city, as confirmed by the Saint-Brieuc prosecutor. She is now set to undergo a medical examination and will be questioned by investigators to shed light on the circumstances of her disappearance.
Suspicious shelter
The prosecutor revealed that Morgane was being sheltered by a 21-year-old man from Rennes. This individual was immediately taken into custody on serious charges, including abduction, kidnapping, and unlawful confinement of a minor under 15.
A press briefing announced
To provide further details and clarify the facts surrounding this case, the Saint-Brieuc prosecutor has scheduled a “detailed” press conference for Wednesday at 6 p.m. This announcement is expected to address the many questions arising from Morgane’s disappearance and the subsequent actions taken by the authorities.
Morgane Rivoal, a 13-year-old teenager who had been missing since November 25 in Pabu, Côtes-d’Armor, has been found safe and sound. The announcement was made on Tuesday, December 10, by the prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc. The exact circumstances of her discovery have not yet been disclosed.
A Worrisome Disappearance
Concern arose on November 25 when the management of Albert Camus Middle School in Grâces informed Morgane’s mother of her absence. The teenager had left her home as usual but never boarded the school bus. Alarmed, her mother reported her disappearance to the Guingamp gendarmerie.
Extensive Search Efforts
In response to the disappearance, authorities launched a large-scale operation. Up to 70 gendarmes were deployed to search the area. Saint-Hubert tracking dogs, renowned for their exceptional sense of smell, were used but lost the trail a few kilometers from her family home. The search efforts included massive ground searches, door-to-door inquiries, and, most recently, intensive road checkpoints conducted by 40 gendarmes as recently as Monday.
Unified Mobilization
Investigators explored all possibilities, with local law enforcement and the community coming together in the search. Morgane’s discovery brings relief and marks the end of a period of anxiety for her family, friends, and the entire community of Pabu.
Although details about her discovery remain unclear, this positive outcome concludes more than two weeks of intensive efforts and collective mobilization.
