As the summit in Versailles gets underway this Monday, the three major companies have already announced new investments totalling more than €6 billion. Even before the summit begins, several multinationals have made major investment announcements in France in conjunction with the seventh edition of Choose France
On Sunday, the Élysée revealed that Amazon, the American giant, planned to invest €1.2 billion to create 3,000 direct permanent jobs, mainly to strengthen its logistics network.
Another American giant, Microsoft, is also planning to invest €4 billion in the development of data centres in France, notably by setting up a new centre near Mulhouse, in addition to expanding its existing sites in the Paris region and near Marseille. For Microsoft, this is the largest investment it has ever made in France, and one of the largest abroad in the field of artificial intelligence in recent months.
Among French companies, Sanofi announced a €1.2 billion investment in drug production in France, with the construction of a new plant at Vitry-sur-Seine. The aim is to double production capacity for monoclonal antibodies to treat various diseases, while Sanofi aims to become a world leader in the field of immunology.
These investments should lead to the creation of thousands of jobs in France, an initiative welcomed by Business France.
