The actress had been battling breast cancer since 2015
Shannen Doherty, famous for her roles in the hit series Beverly Hills, 90210 and Charmed, died on Saturday July 13 at the age of 53 from breast cancer, her agent Leslie Sloane told People magazine. Diagnosed in 2015, she had shared her battle with the disease on Instagram.
“Since 2015, I’ve wanted to show you what I’m going through. It’s not pretty, but it’s reality, and my wish is to raise awareness of cancer and its effects,” she wrote in 2021
Born on April 12, 1971 in Tennessee, Shannen Doherty began her career in 1981 with a small role in the TV series Father Murphy. In 1990, she joined the cast of Beverly Hills, 90210, playing Brenda Walsh for four years. In 1998, she joined the series Charmed, where she played Prue Halliwell.
