As we mentioned in our article yesterday, unions are maintaining their strike notice for the Christmas and New Year weekends
Christophe Fanichet, the current CEO of SNCF Voyageurs, will personally announce the transportation plan to mitigate the risk of the strike. This plan aims to help travelers better prepare for their trips and organize accordingly. If the strike is widely supported, significant disruptions are highly likely.
Despite efforts made by management, a favorable resolution to the looming conflict has not been reached. With negotiations appearing stalled on both sides, the SNCF’s proposed transportation plan, expected to be revealed today, will be closely scrutinized.
It seems, however, that the unions themselves are not officially calling for the strike; rather, it originates directly from the train managers and onboard staff. While it is still too early to assess the full impact, if the movement garners support similar to the early December strike, travelers can expect major disruptions that will affect us all.
