Michou’s Controversial Card Game Recalled for Inappropriate Content for Children

The card game “Qui sera le menteur” (Who’s the Liar), created by influencer Michou and published by Topi Games, has been officially recalled following complaints about questions deemed unsuitable for young audiences. Marketed as suitable for children aged 7 and up, the game contains cards with sexually suggestive questions, sparking outrage among parents and online users during the holiday season.

An Error Acknowledged by the Publisher

Topi Games admitted to a “manufacturing error in the content validation process.” In a statement, the publisher expressed regret for the inconvenience caused, taking “full responsibility for this mistake.” The government’s Rappel Conso website announced the official recall of the game, citing a “moral risk due to inappropriate content.”

Michou’s Response

Michou also issued an apology in a message shared on social media, stating he never intended to include such questions in the game. However, he acknowledged being involved in the project for several months and even referenced some of the controversial cards in a promotional video.

A Voluntary Recall and Refunds

Rappel Conso confirmed that the recall was voluntary and initiated by Topi Games, not mandated by authorities. Consumers who own a copy of the game are encouraged to return it either online or in-store for a full refund.

It remains unclear whether “Qui sera le menteur” will return in a revised version or be rebranded for an older audience. This incident highlights the need for careful oversight in the design of products targeted at children, particularly when endorsed by influential public figures.
