In a previous statement, Météo-France issued an orange alert for Manche, Ille-et-Vilaine, and Côtes-d’Armor due to strong winds expected on Sunday starting at 10 a.m

Six departments will be under orange alert this Sunday, Météo-France announced on December 21st. Manche, Ille-et-Vilaine, and Côtes-d’Armor will be placed under orange alert from 10 a.m. for strong winds, with the alert remaining in effect until 4 p.m.

Meanwhile, Haute-Savoie, Savoie, and Isère will be under orange alert starting at 9 a.m. for snow and ice risks, and will later be under the same level of alert for avalanche risks from 6 p.m.

The depression “Enol,” approaching from the Atlantic, will cause a rapid northwesterly flow between a depression west of Norway and a strong anticyclone over the North Atlantic. Météo-France specifies that strong gusts will affect the coastal departments of Manche on Sunday, while heavy snowfall will fall on the northern Alps, starting at mid-mountain level.

The meteorological agency also added that Finistère, Calvados, and Seine-Maritime will experience frequent and violent gusts. Météo-France stated that the wind alert level could be raised for these departments.
