Parcoursup 2025: new features, increased transparency, and a redesigned schedule
The Parcoursup platform opens its doors on Wednesday, December 18, marking the start of the 2025 edition with several new features aimed at improving the candidates’ experience and enhancing the transparency of the process. High school students will be able to consult the 23,000 courses available for the coming year starting today, while the wish formulation phase will begin on January 15 and end on March 13, 2025.
New features for more clarity
Among the main developments this year, Parcoursup introduces a “card of identity” for each program. This card gathers all the essential information, such as the status of the institution (public, private under contract, or non-contracted), the selectivity of the program, the number of available places, and eligibility for scholarships. This information, previously scattered across several tabs, is now centralized in one single file for a clearer and more accessible overview.
Candidates will also have access to a simulator that allows them to assess their chances of admission based on their average grades and specialties. This simulator provides an estimate based on data from the last three years, indicating the real chances of being admitted, and can be accompanied by statistics on the profiles of students who were admitted.
Data on professional integration to better guide choices
Another significant new feature is access to statistics on professional integration and further studies. These data, previously limited to BTS and professional degrees, are now extended to general degrees, agricultural BTS, engineering schools, as well as business and management schools. In other words, students can now check the career prospects for each program, such as employment rates or the continuation of studies by graduates.
By the end of January, additional data regarding employment conditions, such as average salaries one year after graduation, will be integrated into the platform, providing an even clearer view of post-graduation prospects.
A redesigned schedule to reduce uncertainty
The schedule for the 2025 session has been rethought to reduce waiting times and uncertainty for candidates. After consulting the available programs from December 18, students will be able to formulate their wishes from January 15, with the formulation phase closing on March 13. The main admission phase will start on June 2, and the ranking of pending wishes will occur between June 6 and June 10, allowing as many students as possible to receive at least one admission offer before the written baccalaureate exams, which are scheduled from June 16 to July 2.
Towards greater transparency
The aim of these reforms is clear: to offer more transparency to candidates and help them make informed choices about their orientation. Analysis reports on the expectations of programs, the profiles of admitted candidates, and the new information on professional integration are designed to reduce anxiety among high school students by helping them better understand the admission criteria and the prospects of each program.
With these new features, Parcoursup 2025 commits to providing a clearer, fairer, and better-suited environment for candidates’ expectations while considering current economic and professional challenges.
