Major Raid: 21 Suspects Arrested in the Case of the Murder of Rapper SCH’s Associate
On Monday, December 2, authorities carried out the arrest of 21 people suspected of involvement in the murder of a close associate of rapper SCH. This significant operation, carried out by the Marseille judicial police and the Montpellier research section of the gendarmerie, marks an important step forward in a case that has rocked both the rap community and the city of Marseille.
A Thorough Operation
The arrests began at 6 a.m., involving significant resources to apprehend the suspected members of the DZ Mafia, a notorious criminal group in Marseille. Among those arrested, six were already incarcerated and were extracted from prison to be placed in custody. Under current regulations, these custody periods could last up to 96 hours.
A Deadly Shooting in August
The events date back to August 26, after rapper SCH performed at a nightclub. As the artist and his team were leaving the venue, one of their vehicles came under a gunfire attack involving automatic weapons. This assault led to the death of one of SCH’s associates and left another member of his team injured.
According to investigators, the murder is believed to be linked to an extortion attempt targeting the rapper. Those arrested today will have to account for their possible involvement in this tragedy and other alleged activities of the group.
A Criminal Organization Expanding Its Activities
The DZ Mafia, infamous for its violence and bloody conflicts in the Marseille region, appears to be broadening its range of operations. In addition to its traditional activities, the group has reportedly recently engaged in extortion operations targeting local businesses, a strategy that has raised concerns among authorities.
This raid represents an important step in the fight against criminal networks in Marseille, but investigators continue to dig deeper to dismantle these organizations and uncover the full scope of their activities.
