The Christmas Bonus Will Be Paid to 2.2 Million Households on December 17
The government announced this Tuesday that the Christmas Bonus, a special year-end financial aid, will be automatically paid to beneficiaries of social minimums on December 17, 2024, just ahead of the holiday season. This allowance, with a minimum amount set at €152.45, targets several categories of recipients.
Who is eligible?
Recipients of the Active Solidarity Income (RSA), the Specific Solidarity Allowance (ASS), the Flat-Rate Bonus for Resumption of Activity, and the Equivalent Retirement Allowance (AER) will receive this support automatically, without needing to take any additional steps. These details were outlined in a joint statement by the Ministries of Solidarity, Labor, and Budget.
2.2 Million Households to Benefit
The Christmas Bonus will benefit over 2.2 million households this year. Although the amount is not indexed to inflation, it remains unchanged from 2023 for a single person living in mainland France or overseas departments (excluding Mayotte). For instance, a single individual will receive €152.45, while a couple with two children will be entitled to €320.15, depending on the family composition.
This essential aid offers crucial support to many families, helping them better prepare for the holiday season amid challenging economic circumstances.
