After the passage of storm Caetano, the weather is calming down. The week has been marked by strong winds, negative temperatures, and snowfall, but from Saturday, November 23, the climate will undergo a drastic change

Anticyclonic conditions are settling in, bringing milder and less disrupted weather compared to the previous days.

A noticeable rise in temperatures
On Saturday, only the northwest quarter of the country and the Cévennes will experience rain, accompanied by winds from the south blowing at 60 to 80 km/h. For the rest of the country, the sky will be clear with occasional clouds.

In the northeast and the Paris region, the weather will be calm, though the sky will remain slightly overcast, with a few rain showers. However, the southern half of France will enjoy mostly sunny skies.

Sunday: localized rain
On Sunday, precipitation will be concentrated only in Brittany and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. The rest of the country will experience alternating blue skies and clouds.

A marked warm-up
Temperatures will rise significantly over the weekend. While Saturday morning will still be cold with frost, especially in the Southwest, a significant warm-up will occur during the day, thanks to a southwest wind. Météo France forecasts maximum temperatures ranging from 8 to 12°C in the Alps, the Northeast, and Normandy, and between 12 and 16°C across much of the country, from Brittany to the Southwest and the Mediterranean. Peaks near 20°C are expected at the foot of the Pyrenees and in Corsica.

A mild weekend, close to 20°C
On Sunday, temperatures will continue to rise, with maximums reaching 20°C in the north and 25°C in the Basque Country. Across nearly all of France, temperatures will exceed 10°C, a stark contrast to the freezing temperatures of recent days, which had disrupted traffic on many roads.

A more unstable start to the week
However, the beginning of the week is expected to be more unsettled, with precipitation affecting much of the country, from the southwest quarter to the north of France.
