The Paris criminal brigade is in charge of the investigation into organised gang murder and attempted organised gang murder

At around midnight on the night of Friday 3 to Saturday 4 May, shots were fired in the car park of the Micro-Folie cultural centre in Sevran (Seine-Saint-Denis), in the Beaudottes district, according to information from a police source confirming a report by Actu 17.

According to the same source, one man was killed and several others were injured, some seriously. The weapon used was believed to be a Kalashnikov-type rifle. The deceased was a 29-year-old man, while the injured were men aged between 22 and 34.

The incident occurred at 11.50pm. A car stopped near a group of friends on the spot, and a gunman opened fire on them several times with a large-calibre weapon, leaving at least twenty shell casings on the ground, according to a police source quoted by H24 MEDIA.

The investigation, which has been opened for deliberate homicide in an organised gang and attempted deliberate homicide in an organised gang, has been entrusted to the Paris crime squad.

The mayor of Sevran condemned the incident in a statement issued on Saturday 4 May, recalling the recent shootings that have occurred, which he said were probably linked to trafficking activities.

‘It’s trafficking, the dirty money of the drug economy that’s responsible’, said Stéphane Blanchet, demanding sustained intervention and commitment from the State over the long term on these issues.

On Saturday, several mobile force units were mobilised in the region to reinforce the security arrangements already in place, including local police officers and anti-crime brigades (BAC), announced the police prefecture.

A company of CRS arrived at the scene of the shooting in the late morning, and then headed for the RER station. According to a police source, it was not CRS 8, which specialises in urban disturbances. Seven gendarmerie vehicles also arrived mid-afternoon and are parked outside the police station.
