Michel Barnier, appointed to Matignon by Emmanuel Macron, has not yet formed his government and is continuing his meetings with executives from the presidential camp this Wednesday, September 11. On his arrival at the Horizons parliamentary days, he revealed that a government will be formed by next week

The new Prime Minister, Michel Barnier, arrived in Reims on Wednesday September 11 to meet the 33 MPs of the Horizons group, the party led by Édouard Philippe. During his visit, he made an initial announcement, promising that “next week, a government will be named.”

Following his meeting with members of the Horizons group, Michel Barnier will head for Seine-et-Marne to hold talks with the 36 elected members of the MoDem party. He stressed the importance of carrying out these steps “methodically and seriously”, while specifying that the date of next week represents an “objective” rather than a constraint, according to details provided by his entourage to H24 NEWS.

Michel Barnier remains silent on the inclusion of left-wing personalities in his government

Michel Barnier remains vague on the question of whether left-wing figures will be included in his future government. In response to questions about this possibility, he urged patience.

“Don’t be impatient,” he insisted regarding the composition of his team. However, the Prime Minister confirmed that members of the Horizons movement will indeed be present in the new government.

Prime Minister promises radical transformation: “It’s not a reshuffle, but a new government”

In his first meeting with members of the Ensemble pour la République group, Michel Barnier assured them that this was a real break with the past, rather than a simple reshuffle. The new Prime Minister outlined the “demanding coexistence” extolled by the Élysée Palace, underlining the innovative nature of his future government.
