Lina’s genetic profile was discovered in a stolen vehicle, a ‘major breakthrough in the investigation’ that could ‘help locate’ the missing teenager, according to the public prosecutor’s office

The Strasbourg public prosecutor confirmed the discovery on Friday 26 July, stating that analyses of samples taken from the vehicle had revealed Lina’s genetic profile.

The vehicle was found ‘not far from where Lina disappeared last September’.

Missing since September 2023

Lina disappeared on 23 September 2023 after leaving her home in Plaine, Bas-Rhin, to go to the railway station in Saint-Blaise-sur-Roche.

Her mother, Fanny Groll, launched an appeal last March, saying that ‘any clue is a good one’. She hoped that something, even an insignificant detail, would help the investigation.
