André Chassaigne leads first round for President of the National Assembly
In the first round of the election for President of the French National Assembly, André Chassaigne, representing the NFP-PCF, received 200 votes, putting him in the lead. However, a second round is necessary as the Communist deputy did not achieve an absolute majority of votes.

- Sébastien Chenu (RN): 142 votes
- Yaël Braun-Pivet, outgoing president (Ensemble): 124 votes
- Philippe Juvin (LR): 48 votes
- Naïma Moutchou (Horizons): 38 votes
- Charles de Courson (Liot): 18 votes

- Absolute majority: 285
Philippe Juvin and Naïma Moutchou withdraw from the race for President of the French National Assembly
Philippe Juvin (LR) and Naïma Moutchou (Horizons) have announced their withdrawal from the race for the perch of the National Assembly after the first round of voting.

To be elected in the second round, a candidate must obtain an absolute majority of votes cast. If this majority is not achieved, a third round will take place, in which the deputy with the most votes will be elected President of the National Assembly.
