A 20-year-old man affiliated with the neo-Nazi movement was arrested at his home in Colmar on Wednesday July 17. He is suspected of planning acts of violence during the Olympic Games
On Wednesday July 17, forces from the Anti-Terrorist Sub-Directorate of the Judicial Police (SDAT) arrested a 20-year-old neo-Nazi, according to information obtained by H24 NEWS from a source close to the case, confirming a report in the newspaper Le Parisien. The suspect had intended to commit violent acts during the Olympic Games. At the same time, the Pôle national de lutte contre la haine en ligne (PNLH) of the Paris public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation following reports of comments made by the suspect on a Telegram channel.
The PNLH investigation is particularly focused on charges of “death threats materialized by writing, image or other object, committed on the grounds of origin, race, ethnicity, nation or religion”, as well as charges of “public and direct provocation not followed by effect to commit a crime or misdemeanor, and public provocation to hatred or violence on the grounds of origin, race, ethnicity, nation or religion”.
