Thunderstorms: orange vigilance for 16 northeastern départements this Monday

Météo-France has placed 16 departments in northeastern France under orange vigilance for the risk of thunderstorms this Monday, July 15. The bulletin indicates that “strong thunderstorms accompanied by hail and intense precipitation” are expected

According to Météo-France, “significant electrical” activity and wind gusts close to 100 km/h will cross the orange vigilance zone from west to east.

Thunderstorms expected in the afternoon and evening

The departments concerned are : Meuse, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Moselle, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Jura, Doubs, Haute-Saône, Vosges, Saône-et-Loire, Yonne, Nièvre, Aube, Côte-d’Or, Haute-Marne and Territoire de Belfort.

The morning should be calm, allowing the heat to settle in. The stormy disturbances will begin in the afternoon, with a clear deterioration forecast. A lull is expected in the middle of the night, between July 15 and 16.
