The President has sent a letter to the French, urging them to favour the presidential majority over the “extremes of the right and left” in the forthcoming legislative elections on 30 June and 7 July

Emmanuel Macron has sent a letter to the French, published on Sunday 23 June on the France Bleu website and in the regional daily press, in which he firmly opposes “the extremes of the right and left”. He urged voters in the legislative elections on 30 June and 7 July to choose the “third way” embodied by the outgoing majority grouped around the “central bloc Ensemble pour la République”. For the President, this path is crucial because it is the best bulwark against extremism in the second round. He also defended the majority’s record, acknowledging its imperfections but stressing the dangers posed by extremes to the continuity of the actions undertaken.

Emmanuel Macron justified his decision to dissolve the National Assembly by citing the responsibility and gravity of this step after careful consideration. He expresses his confidence in the leaders of the majority and in the Prime Minister to maintain unity and support the candidates in each constituency, with a view to serving an action project for the country.

Like the other parties, Emmanuel Macron is calling on the French people to vote without fear or resignation, choosing respect, ambition and justice for the Nation. He also recognises the need for a profound change in the way we govern, acknowledging unresolved democratic tensions and affirming his desire to respond to these challenges with a renewed approach.
