Vigilance Orange: Rain-Flood and Flood Risks

Nine départements are under orange alert for the risk of flooding and rain this Friday 21 June. Eure-et-Loir, Loir-et-Cher and Loiret are under alert for rain and flooding, while Mayenne, Maine-et-Loire, Nièvre, Yonne, Savoie and Isère are concerned by the risk of flooding. The alert has been lifted in the Hautes-Alpes and the Sarthe.

Météo-France is reporting significant rainfall totals, with hourly intensities of 10 to 20 mm in Eure-et-Loir, the north of Loir-et-Cher and the west of Loiret. In Orléans, for example, 13.9 mm was recorded in one hour and 31.6 mm in three hours.

The red alert for Mayenne and Maine-et-Loire was also lifted on Friday morning, after exceptional flooding in the Craon area and moderate flooding at Segré on the Oudon. In the other départements under flood alert, Vigicrues mentions a major event for the season on the upstream Yonne, a major flood on the Arc and moderate to fairly heavy flooding downstream on the Romanche in Isère.
