“Un P’tit truc en plus”, the feel-good comedy by Artus, continues to triumph and has just passed the 7 million admissions mark, setting a new record
The director shared the news on Instagram on Saturday 15 June: “7 million thanks! Thank you, thank you, thank you for this crazy adventure! We love you!!!!”. Since its release on 1 May, the film has been a constant success, becoming the biggest French box office success since the start of the pandemic.
Each week since its release, “Un P’tit truc en plus” has attracted a million viewers, closing in on the ten million mark, a feat not achieved by a French film since “Qu’est-ce qu’on a fait au bon Dieu?” in 2014.
Directed by comedian Artus, this comedy stars Clovis Cornillac and Alice Belaïdi and tackles the theme of disability with humour and respect. The film tells the story of two thugs on the run (Artus and Clovis Cornillac) who find themselves hiding out in the middle of a holiday camp for mentally handicapped youngsters, an experience that transforms their lives.
The cast includes a dozen amateur actors with disabilities, adding an authentic and enriching dimension to the production.
