Marine Lorphelin, Former Miss France, Becomes a Certified General Practitioner

After 14 years of study, Marine Lorphelin, crowned Miss France 2013, has successfully defended her medical thesis and officially earned her degree as a general practitioner. This marks the culmination of a long journey for the 31-year-old, who resumed her medical studies after her reign as Miss France.

On Wednesday, March 12, she defended her thesis before a jury at the Faculty of Health at Paris-Cité University, receiving the distinction of “very honorable.” To celebrate this achievement, family and friends gathered at the Maison Sauvage restaurant in Paris. Among them were former Miss France director Sylvie Tellier and several fellow contestants from the Miss France 2012 competition, who have since become close friends.

“Call Me Doctor”

In a video shared on Instagram, Marine Lorphelin reflected on her demanding journey: “After months of working on my thesis, countless night shifts at the hospital, sacrifices, and moments of doubt, I am finally a doctor!” She also expressed her gratitude to those who supported her from the lecture halls to her first professional experiences as a doctor.

“You’ve followed my night shifts, the Covid crisis, my exam revisions, my internships in France and abroad… Today, I can finally turn the page on my studies, and I have no regrets. I love my job and can’t wait to embrace the next chapter of my professional journey!”

Congratulations quickly poured in. Doctor and TV host Michel Cymes welcomed her to the profession, while celebrities like Matt Pokora and several former Miss France winners, including Flora Coquerel and Maeva Coucke, sent her heartfelt messages.

An Inspiring Journey

Throughout her studies, Marine Lorphelin pursued multiple projects. She worked as a health columnist on France 5, served as an ambassador for UNICEF, and authored books on wellness—all while continuing her medical training.

Crowned Miss Saône-et-Loire and then Miss Bourgogne before winning Miss France in 2013, she was also the first runner-up at Miss World the same year. Her unique path, balancing glamour and a medical career, is both admirable and inspiring for younger generations.
