Pope Francis: vital prognosis no longer reserved after hospitalization for double pneumonia, with consolidated improvements

Improvement in Pope Francis’ Health: A Possible Hospital Discharge Soon?

After nearly a month of hospitalization for double pneumonia, Pope Francis, aged 88, is showing significant improvement. The Vatican announced on Monday, March 10, that the pontiff’s life prognosis is no longer critical, with recent blood tests confirming a positive response to treatments.

According to the medical bulletin, the progress observed in recent days has stabilized, allowing doctors to lift the reserved prognosis. However, given the complexity of the clinical picture and the severity of the initial infection, the pope will need to continue pharmacological therapy for a few more days at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital.

An Active Pope Despite Hospitalization

Despite being in the hospital, Pope Francis continues to fulfill certain pastoral duties remotely. He sent a message of condolence to the victims of the floods in Argentina, expressing solidarity with the affected families.

Although the date of his return to the Santa Marta residence in Vatican City has not yet been specified, the favorable evolution of his condition suggests that he could be discharged in the coming days. Faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square continue to pray for his full recovery.

This improvement marks a reassuring step for the Catholic Church, as Pope Francis, despite the challenges, remains determined to pursue his spiritual mission in service of believers worldwide.
