Man Arrested After Entering the Building in the Absence of Minister Aurore Bergé

On January 26th, a disturbing incident occurred at the Ministry of Gender Equality and the Fight Against Discrimination, led by Aurore Bergé. A man, armed with a knife, managed to enter the premises of the ministry, located in a mansion in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, while the minister was absent. Fortunately, the intruder was quickly apprehended, though his motivations remain unknown. This unusual intrusion was confirmed by the minister’s entourage and reported by H24 MEDIA, following an initial report by Challenges.

A High-Risk Ministry, Previously Targeted by Threats
A source close to the case pointed out that this ministry, due to the sensitive nature of the issues it addresses, has always been considered a “high-risk” ministry. The delicate topics it handles had already led to heightened security measures, but this incident underscored the need for even further protection.

In response to the intrusion, the ministry has filed a complaint, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances. This is not the first time Minister Aurore Bergé has faced threats to her personal safety: in 2023, she was already the target of death threats aimed at her and her family.
